Residency programmes

KINTAI ARTS artspace is an artistic initiative in a rural location which provides a forum for all artistic branches and interdisciplinary work, encouraging encounters with contemporary art forms outside of urban cultural centers. Kintai Arts residency is based in a former school of Kintai and other buildings of the communal institutions. It is situated in the Pomeranian region of the Curonian Lagoon (Klaipeda region, Silute municipality) and situated in the rural environment on the coast of the Curonian Lagoon near the peninsula of Curonian Spit and Vente Cape.

Kintai Arts residency programmes aim to provide a cultural platform for interdisciplinary art practice, international encounters and exchange of ideas, while exploring Kintai Arts residency‘s geographical, social and cultural contexts. Kintai Arts residency predominantly works with practicioners researching in the fields of :

- nature and ecology
- historical and cultural in situ heritage
- social activism reflecting on relevant political, sociocultural issues

- Residency programme for experimental sound practices „Kintai.Kitaip“invites sound practitioners to spend two weeks in Kintai developing new sound works, sharing their practices with fellow artists, and exchanging perspectives on different residency themes. Artists present their pieces in public events in Kintai, Vilnius, Liepaja and Tallinn. The pieces are also digitally released on Music Information Centre Lithuania label. The open call takes place on January-February yearly.
