The Kintai Arts Residency invites professionals working in culture and academia fields to apply for an individual residency programme for April - June 2024. The duration of the residency can vary from 2 weeks to 2 months. This programme is dedicated to those seeking a quiet retreat in nature, a peaceful place to focus on various types of cultural and academia projects.
The Residency provides accommodation and workspace for a wide range of activities, catering to both research-oriented endeavors (such as new projects, applications, PhD work, scriptwriting, music composition, literature, etc.) and multidisciplinary artistic practices (including painting, sculpture, sound art, music practice, etc.). Participants can engage in diverse creative pursuits and scholarly work, taking advantage of the serene and inspiring environment to nurture their projects and explore various artistic and academic disciplines.

Conditions and requirements
To present in a single pdf. file:
- Free-form CV reflecting your field of activity,
- A portfolio with examples of your work or another source that reflects your practice;

Residency offers private studios and rooms for 1-4 people equipped with individual bathrooms and kitchinettes as well as the common spaces with shared kitchen, office and meeting rooms.
The residency provides 2 personal and 1 shared studio space for work with a possibility to work on bigger scale sculptural, painting or other projects in the workspaces outside the residency building.
Considering your needs, we can book various places for rehearsals and work: big shared-space studio (~60 m 2 ), three smaller rooms for working (20-35 m 2 ), space for exhibition (~110 m 2 ), hall with stage, lighting, and sound system with some of the musical instruments (~450 m 2 ), barn for dancing, performances, and rehearsals (~200 m 2 ), another barn for works with wood, smaller architecture, sculptures, painting, and installations (300 m 2 ). We are also offering you an opportunity to use the gym, basketball, and volleyball playgrounds. We have shared-space Lutheran Church buildings for rehearsals and concerts. In Kintai, you can find other options: a lot of big walls in public spaces, fields, a forest and, of course, Curonian Lagoon (Kuršių marios), where you can participate in active sports as much as in peaceful leisure, also, in Ventė Cape (Ventės ragas) you can find a place for the monitoring of migratory birds – all of them are perfectly suitable for your creative ideas.
You can also use bikes (20 units) for your trips around the town.
There is a possibility to loan a PA system for sound and musical events.
Studio and living space rent, including all taxes, use of equipment and communal spaces:
A studio (single bed) with private facilities (WC and a kitchenette) - 30 EUR/night
A double room (2 single beds) with individual facilities - 30 EU/night (15 EU/night per person)
A double room (1 double bed) with individual facilities - 40 EU/night
A triple room (double bed + single bed) with individual facilities - 50 EU/night
Spaces at mezzanine with shared facilities (from 1 to 4 persons) - 15 EU/night per person (only during a warm season)
If you want to participate in the residency programme but it is financially difficult, please mention this in your email application. We hope that we can find an accommodation price that is within the applicant's means.
This programme is not funded. Incoming residents must cover travel and accommodation costs. The Residency can issue an official letter of acceptance to residents applying to the Individual Fellowship and Residency Funding Programmes.
