Kristina Mažeikaitė

Kristina Mažeikaitė (b. 1987, Vilnius) – artist, painter. She experiments with mega-format canvases and the possibilities of painterly expression. Using abstracted expression and abandoning narrative image, the artist explores the structures of the earth, the flow of time and the experience of existential being. Combining concept with pictorial form, she creates tactile experiences in her paintings. The architecture of each exhibition is an inclusive installation of paintings. The painter graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2015 with a Master's degree in Painting; was awarded by Ary Stillman Scholarship in 2014. Her works have been exhibited in solo exhibitions: “The Land was burning, but nobody noticed it” (Šiauliai Arts Gallery, 2023), “Gates to the Garden” (Vilnius Town Hall, 2023), “No Man's Land” (Arka Gallery, 2021), “Saudade” (Antanas Mončys House-Museum, 2021), “House of the Burning Sun” (Pamėnkalnis Gallery, 2018), “The Apples of Paradise” (Šv. John Street Gallery, 2018), “Painter's Landscape” (Museum of Energy and Technology, 2016), etc.
