Vincent Jondeau is a filmmaker and artist based in Berlin. His filmic and photographic work is rooted in hybrid methodologies through which he seeks to develop ecological forms of narrative, questioning the human gaze and incorporating the perspective and memory of otherbeings. His practice is also nourished by interdisciplinary collaborations with performers, dancers, and researchers. Alongside his artistic practice, he works in artistic heritage preservation as an archivist, with institutions such as the Wim Wenders and Alfred Ehrhardt Foundations.
Vincent’s work has been shown at venues such as Kunst quartier Bethanien and the Biennale Photo Mulhouse 2024 — where he appeared on the cover of the catalogue—as well as at various film festivals, including Regensburg Short Film Week and Imagésanté in Liège, where he was awarded the Environment and Health Prize together with Marina Resende Santos.
For this residency, Vincent continues his exploration of a visual language that blends photography and film. His project focuses on the Aukštumala site near Kintai, home to one of Europe’s largest peat bogs, which plays a crucial role in carbon regulation. He approaches landscapes as living ecosystems shaped by interwoven natural and human dynamics. His artistic investigation seeks to highlight the paradox of a natural site where human intervention both sustains and threatens the vitality of life.
