Tess Elliot

Tess Elliot is a multidisciplinary artist from New York, living, working, and raising her daughter in Norman, Oklahoma.

She has a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art, an MFA in Art & Technology from the Ohio State University, and is currently Assistant Professor of Art, Technology, & Culture at the University of Oklahoma. Her moving images and installations have been exhibited nationally and internationally, recently with Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, IL, Aggregate Space Gallery in Oakland, CA, the Ann Arbor Film Festival in Ann Arbor, MI, Vinegar Contemporary in Birmingham, AL, and MOTOR in Los Angeles, CA, among others. At Kintai Arts, I was able to focus on a continuing series of small watercolor paintings and also completed a code and GIF-based moving image work. These projects have since been included in 3 group exhibitions in the US. As an American with Lithuanian grandparents, my residency allowed for time and space to explore ancestral homeland. To escape into the landscape through daily meditative walks around the lagoon fostered intense creative energy. Overall it was an invaluable experience.
