Insa Schülting

Insa Schülting is a visual artist living in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her works are characterized by their use of a wide range of media and their content primarily deals with art and heritage, landscapes and resources. She is interested in the diverse manifestations and traces that are related to everyday practices, historical events, natural processes, as well as their conditions and interactions.

In Kintai, she is researching for a new group of works that take the flight of birds as their central theme and relates it to landscape, ecological, cultural and political changes. The birds, their lives and their exploration are the motifs for collecting stories and reports addressing the continuous movement of and threats to nature as well as the the encounter between humans and non-humans. The residency is funded by Culture Moves Europe (Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Implemented by the Goethe-Institut)
