I am a painter and researcher interested in abstract and expressive painting, following the idealistic insights of modern artists.
My paintings are often monochromatic, in the search for unity of form and the emergence of the appearance of an image (picture). Perhaps only the traces of the painting process can capture these feelings, and here the form and pattern of the landscape itself is at work.
When I am in Kintai, I think about the power of the surrounding landscape with its history and spirit. The experience of plenary sketching helps me not to generalise about painting but opens up new ways of seeing its possibilities.
