Anthropocene in the coastal nature

Double exhibition in Kintai: - 12 June, 17:00, at the birdwatching tower on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon - 17 June, 5 pm, Kintai Arts Art Gallery

On the 8th of June the "Cultural Barn" residency programme "The Anthropocene in the coastal region" starts with two exhibition openings!
On 12 June at 5 pm, we invite everyone to rediscover the "Cultral Barn's" Birds observatory tower designed by Biotope architects, located by the wild shore of the Curonian Lagoon. You will discover an exhibition by ornithologist and photographer Boris Belchev.
On the afternoon of 10 June, a stone bird feeder will be set up in front of the tower, we invite you to come and see it!
On 16 June at 5 pm, Kintai Arts Art Gallery will host an exhibition featuring paintings created during the residency by Nazli Moripek (Germany), Younghun Kim (Italy) and Kristina Mažeikaitė (Lithuania). The opening of the exhibition will be followed by a discussion moderated by art historian Karen Vanhercke entitled "Stories are created from images".
The Kintai Arts residency invited artists to interpret the theme of the Anthropocene: to explore the landscape of the lowland region of the Pomeranian coast, to delve into the natural changes taking place in the Pomeranian region during the period of the residency, the migration of birds, to reflect on the synergy between man and nature. Monitoring these processes is an invitation to painters to experiment with plein air painting in the midst of the nature of the Pomeranian region, and to take a closer look at the often intangible life of the wild nature of the region by taking part in the expeditions organised by Kintai Arts.
Residency is supported by EEA Grants
"Cultural Barn" is an EEA (European Economic Area) funded cultural project that promotes local culture. The aim of the project is to showcase the natural beauty of the Pomeranian region through visual art and to develop long-term cooperation between the region's residents and artists.
