Raminta is a Lithuanian painter who works with visual and material fragments that bear specific traces of reality. In her work, she concentrates on creating signs and forming symbolic values to bridge the real and imaginative aspects of an image. Through a minimalist, focused, and poetic approach, the elements of her work capture the constant shift in perspective. Associative images and objects engage the viewer, prompting them to reflect on the nature of their gaze and consider why it is perceived in that way.
During her residency at Kintai, Raminta focuses on creating plein-air paintings that capture the natural rhythms and color relationships of the environment. She observes the landscape from her perspective, reflecting on the changing scenery, scale dynamics, and atmospheric qualities of the local area. Her studies include the visual elements of water, vegetation, and the textures and colors of various surfaces. The material she collects shapes her paintings, featuring newly developed artistic signs and atmospheric details. Through this process, Raminta rethinks the connection between individuals and the local landscape, continuing her exploration of different ways of seeing.
