is a Lithuanian-born, Amsterdam based graphic designer. Since graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2018, her focus has been on research-based graphic design projects with a strong emphasis on collaborative practices within the fields of art, design and technology.
During her residency in Kintai, Deimantė explores ancient Balts traditions through field trips, earth work based practices and archival material. Her project delves into ancestral symbolism, folk art and mythology to uncover the community’s cultural narratives and belief systems, highlighting their deep connection to the Earth and the significance of ritualistic and ceremonial practices. Deimantė employs a distinctive approach by organizing the archive around thematic associations and integrating archival materials with AI-enhanced collages, allowing for new interpretations of these narratives. The archive explores themes of healing, nature, and cosmology, addressing both individual and collective perspectives, and is open to diverse interpretations.
