The region of Kintai is known for its manyfold bird species and is also located on one of the most important migratory bird routes in Europe. This peculiarity will be the starting point for the laboratory which gives a space for imagination to create. We would like to invite musicians and visual artists for an interdisciplinary laboratory to explore this manifold diversity of the birds with artistic means.
In exchange with the local community we want to offer an experimental, inclusive and processual space for art, which is complemented by artist talks, presentations, workshops and other forms of artistic research together with the inhabitants of Kintai. In regular colloquia, participants can share their experiences and questions, discuss, collaborate and present sketches. At the end of the residency there will be a public event – a Feast of the birds – to present and discuss the artistic results of the project.
